Outcomes:

  • To counter prejudice and intolerance towards refugees by raising awareness.

  • Development of positive affective responses gained via empathy around the experience of being a

  • refugee and its impact on the individual and families.

  • To raise awareness of how non-factual perceptions, beliefs and generated negative affective responses can lead to prejudice and intolerance.

  • Know basic facts about refugees and be able to show empathy around the experience of being a refugee and its impact on the individual and families.

Learning Objectives : To develop and show empathy 

Success Criteria:  

I can discuss what is meant by ‘refugee’,  

I can explain what is important to me,  

I can label the contents of my backpack.
